The Undergraduate Teaching Assessment Team visit National Infrastructure of Mineral, Rock and Fossil for Science and Technology (NIMRF) in China University of Geosciences - Beijing
On September 28, The Undergraduate Teaching Assessment Team of the Ministry of Education (MOE) visited National Infrastructure of Mineral, Rock and Fossil for Science and Technology (NIMRF) of China University of Geosciences – Beijing (CUGB). Accompanied by the CUGB Party Secretary Lei Yalin, the University President Zhao Zhidan, Vice President Liu Damon and other faculties, the Undergraduate Teaching Assessment Team visited the core repository of the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP), the Songke 1 and 3 Wells, the rock, mineral, and fossil speciments banks, and the research laboratories. The team conducted a thorough inquiries and in-depth examinations on the physical and digital management of the speciments and the sharing system of the resources. Professor He Mingyue, the head of the NIMRF, introduced the construction and development progress of the NIMRF, the daily management and operation model, and specific practices and experiences on how to effectively integrate specimen resources into undergraduate teaching programs to provide students more practical experiences with a physical and digital learning platform.
